Fair Day

Fair Day is an event that all area 4th grade youth look forward to attending. It’s almost like a rite of passage for our Collier County youth. For decades, CCSO and CCJDL have worked with the Collier County Fair Board in conjuction with the Collier County Public Schools to make this event a reality. The Fair Board closes the fair for 4 hours to the public on a designated Saturday in the spring when the fair is in town. Collier County Public Schools provides transportation to and from the youth’s school to the event. Collier County Sheriff’s Office provides the security and chaperone detail from the school, during the fair event and then back to the youth’s zoned school.  The event is free of charge to for the students; they are fed lunch and provided a safe envornment to have fun at the fair. This opportunity is one that some of our youth do not have the funds to afford otherwise.

In addition, new summer programs have proven an important step in setting kids on the right path. In all, thousands of area children benefit from the services provided by the Collier County Junior Deputies League. This organization has also been supported and endorsed by Sheriffs Aubrey Rogers, Don Hunter, and current Sheriff, Kevin Rambosk
